Driver Rams NJ State Police Vehicles, Switches Cars On Route 78: Cops
A driver who crashed into multiple state police vehicles in Whippany Township remains at large after leading a brief pursuit before abandoning his vehicle and getting into another on Route 78, Monday, Nov. 20, authorities said. At 9:15 a.m., detectives were in a parking garage at 34 Eden Lane trying to arrest a suspect wanted in connection with a pending investigation, when the suspect rammed into the unmarked state police vehicles in an attempt to flee the scene, according to New Jersey State Police. A crash with serious injuries was causing several detours in Morris County on Saturday evening, authorities said. The crash occurred on Route 24 between Cliffwood Road and Fox Chase Road in Chester, police said on Facebook. Driver, 30, Dies In Route 24 Crash
A 30-year-old man died in a crash on Route 24 early Friday, Feb. 4 in Union County, authorities said. Alexander Marrero's vehicle was heading eastbound onto the I-78 ramp when his Mazda 3 veered off the left side of the road around 1:15 a.m. in Springfield, New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota said. The car struck the end of a guard rail on the eastbound ramp and Marrero, of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial and unconfirmed reports say the driver suffered a severely severed leg.
