More than two dozen Jersey Shore lifeguards tested positive for COVID-19 after attending social gatherings, reports say. The lifeguards are natives of Surf City, Harvey Cedars and surrounding areas on Long Beach Island, NBC New York reports. A total of 17 Harvey Cedars lifeguards tested positive after attending a Surf City gathering. A dozen from Surf City also tested positive, the report said. Starbucks Makes Masks Mandatory
Starbucks is requiring customers wear masks inside all stores in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 effective Wednesday. Store employees are continuing to keep up with increased sanitation procedures, frequent hand washing and the check-in process with a temperature check. Customers are also required to stay six feet apart. “Wearing facial coverings in public spaces is one of the simplest and most effective things we can do to take care of one another,” Starbucks officials said in a release. “We appreciate your partnership and look forward to seeing you soon.”

The 2020 State Fair Meadowlands has been cancelled. New Jersey's largest, annual fair had initially been set to run July 23 through Aug. 9 at MetLife Stadium. Change Will Allow More NJ Restaurants To Offer Outdoor Dining
A change that will allow more restaurants to offer outdoor dining will soon take effect in New Jersey. Areas with fixed roofs that have two open sides comprising more than 50 percent of the total wall space will be considered outdoors because of the air flow, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Wednesday. Bergen Community College (BCC) is moving most classes online and is freezing tuition rates for the Fall 2020 semester. No classes will be held at the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and only paramedic science program practicals will take place at Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. New Jersey is facing a lawsuit from three of the biggest movie theater companies in the U.S. over "unconstitutional" closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. AMC, Regal and Cinemark filed the suit against Gov. Phil Murphy and the state Monday, seeking a temporary restraining order from a federal judge that would allow theaters to reopen immediately, the New York Post reports. Travelers from three more states with high positive testing rates for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have now been added to the joint quarantine order for out-of-state travelers to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The newly-added states as of Tuesday, July 7 are Delaware, Kansas and Oklahoma, bringing the total number of states on the list to 19. Going back to school in September will look much different for New Jersey students, who have been remotely learning since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic mid-March.
