Closter Police Officer Dragged By Paramus Driver
A Closter police officer was hospitalized after being dragged by a fleeing motorist from Paramus on Thursday, authorities said. Sang Lee, 24, initially drove past several "road closed" signs on Closter Dock Road while ignoring three uniformed officers who tried to stop him, forcing a group of construction workers to flee to safety, Detective Lt. A man suspected of drug dealing assaulted a Newark police officer Friday morning and is now at large, a spokesman for the department said in a statement. The uniformed officer was investigating reports of drug dealing on Schley Street when he spotted a man matching a description in the 300 block. A male-female team of car burglars were at work overnight Wednesday when Wallington police rolled up. Officer Anthony Milne spotted Brian L Mcelfresh, 41, of Passaic walking and crouching down near parked cars along Parkway just after 1 a.m., Capt. Shawn Kudlacik said. A young woman whose car rolled off Route 21 into the Passaic River was rescued Monday morning by a Good Samaritan who pulled her from her sinking sedan and a police officer who threw them a lifeline, responders said. Fair Lawn Man Charged With DWI After Hitting Tree, Utility Pole, Fleeing
A 40-year-old Fair Lawn man was charged with DWI Fair Lawn police said he struck a tree and utility pole, then left the scene. Police Officer Anthony Ferreria found Michael Elias in his driveway with fresh damage to his car on Saturday just before midnight, Sgt. Brian Metzler said. UPDATE: Elmwood Park police tracked down and arrested a Tenafly motorist who they said sped off, nearly dragging a uniformed officer with him, following a Friday morning traffic stop. A 13-year-old Saddle Brook boy was pretty shaken up after a middle-aged thief swiped his brand new bicycle from outside the dollar store in town while he was inside shopping with his grandmother. Police Officer, SUV Passengers Hospitalized After Crash
A Hackensack police officer responding to a call and two occupants of an SUV were hospitalized -- all for precautionary reasons -- after a collision Sunday afternoon. The driver of the Toyota refused medical attention after the 2:32 p.m. crash at the intersection of Prospect and Central avenues. The officer had her vehicle's lights and siren on at the time, Capt.
