Robbers Rush Cliffside Park Resident At His Door, Take $34G Worth Of Valuables At Gunpoint
A Cliffside Park man was accosted at his front door by two robbers who took an iPhone 13, a custom Rolex watch and a white-gold ring at gunpoint worth a combined $34,200, authorities said. The robbers pulled up to the Crescent Lane home just off Palisade Avenue in a silver older model Audi SUV shortly after 7 a.m. Monday, March 20, Deputy Police Chief Vincent Capano said. Female Jumper Rescued From Bridge Over Teaneck RR Tracks
HEROES: Crisis negotiators got a troubled woman to safety after she threatened to jump onto the CSX railroad tracks from an overpass in Teaneck. Traffic and pedestrian traffic was stopped over the Grayson Place Bridge near Palisade Avenue after the woman was spotted outside the protective fence around 7:15 p.m. Saturday, April 9. The woman apparently was waiting for a train before jumping, one responder said. Township police alerted a Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, which sent a crisis negotiation unit. Fort Lee police and firefighters rescued two workers who were trapped Tuesday on a scaffold that dangled from the 12th floor of a high-rise atop the Palisades. One of the workers was hospitalized with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening following the 4 p.m. rescue at the Atrium Palace on Palisade Avenue overlooking the Hudson River, Police Capt. Port Authority police were searching for a suspect who’d just bailed out of a stolen car near the Holland Tunnel when an elderly apartment building resident pointed from her window to a couch in the alleyway below. There, they said, they found the driver who tried to elude them covered in a blanket.
