A pair of New Jersey men have been charged with arson after tossing fireworks that set a woman on fire, authorities said. Justin Liebhauser, 19, of Randolph, and Gianni Aveta, 18, of Wayne, were charged with aggravated arson in the incident that occurred in Beach Haven. Family Of Chinese Nationals Killed By Red Light-Running Driver In Toms River: Police
A family of three Chinese nationals were killed when the Maryland driver of the car they were in ran a red light in Ocean County, authorities said. Tina Dung, 21, was stopped for the traffic light, but then went through the red signal and collided with a Legacy Towing flatbed wrecker heading east on Lakehurst Road around 12:25 a.m. Friday, July 22, Toms River police said. The three passengers in Dung’s car, all citizens of China, were killed as a result of the collision. Teen Boy Dead, Sister Rescued After Sand Collapses In On NJ Beach
An 18-year-old boy died and his 17-year-old sister was rescued when sand collapsed in on them while they were digging at a New Jersey beach Tuesday, May 17, authorities said. Levy Caverley, of Maine, was identified as the victim by Toms River police. He and his family were spending the afternoon at the beach, and he and his sister were digging a hole near the Seaview Road entrance on the barrier island when it collapsed in around 4:10 p.m., local police said. A Jersey Shore man who was caught with a handful of phony federal agent IDs in his own name admitted also having a homemade rifle and a silencer. Jeffrey Backlund, 57, of Waretown, took a deal from the government rather than face trial, pleading guilty on Wednesday, April 27, to illegally possessing all of them, U.S. Attorney Philip R. A 36-year-old man from Lakewood was killed in a three-vehicle crash, authorities said. An off-duty Ocean County Sheriff's officer who started his agency's mounted unit was killed in a pre-dawn Valentine's Day crash, authorities said. Brian Stockhoff, 41, was heading south on Shorrock Street when his 2005 Toyota Sienna struck a brick wall outside of the Leisure Village East community at the border of Lakewood and Brick Township around 3:45 a.m., Lakewood Police Capt. A Lacey Township man on Friday, Feb. 11 pleaded guilty to his role in a Jersey Shore drug bust, authorities said. Detectives discovered several ounces of cocaine, LSD, marijuana, and more during a warranted search of the car and home of Andrew Bradley, 22, in October 2021, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D.
