Sussex County Man Stole $100s In Electronics From Local Walmart, Police Say
A Sussex County man was caught stealing hundreds of dollars’ worth of electronics from a local Walmart, police said. Daniel Baker, 32, stole “several hundred dollars’ worth of electronics merchandise” from Walmart in Franklin on Tuesday, Feb. 8, Franklin Borough Police said in a Thursday release. Baker, of Franklin, was also found with a controlled dangerous substance at the time of his arrest, authorities said. Baker was charged with shoplifting and possession of CDS. He was released in accordance with the NJ Bail Reform Act and is scheduled to appear in court.

Property Owner From Wayne Charged In Sussex County House Fire That Killed Teen Girl
The 48-year-old owner of a Sussex County home was charged in connection to a fire that caused the death a 13-year-old girl at the property last month, authorities announced. Walter Biller, of Wayne, failed to obtain or file for proper occupancy and fire safety-related documentation before completing the lease agreement with the Davenport family in 2019, Franklin Borough police said. Therefor, he was charged in the March 19 fire at the Nestor Street home, in which 13-year-old Heaven Davenport died, authorities said. Morris County Game Shop Owner Stole $1,200 In Collector’s Cards From Walmart, Resold For Profit
The owner of a Morris County hobby and games shop has been arrested on accusations that he stole more than $1,000 worth of Walmart merchandise and resold the items at his store for a profit. Frederick Roth of Sussex stole upwards of $1,200 worth of sports and gaming hobby cards from Walmart on Rt. 23 in Franklin throughout November 2020, borough police said. Roth, 60, stole the high-value items by scanning them at a lower price with the self-checkout before selling them for a profit at his store, according to police, who did not mention the business by name.
