A Little Egg Harbor man will spend about a decade in prison for his role in an armed robbery, authorities said.
Marc Manfredonia, 33, was sentenced on Friday, Aug. 9 to 10 years in state prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release on Monday, Aug. 12. He previously pleaded guilty to robbery on Monday, June 17.

A retired New Jersey corrections lieutenant preyed on his peers with a cryptocurrency scheme that cost participating police, firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders more than $620,000, state and federal authorities said.
John DeSalvo, 47, of Linwood, also pulled a $100,000 investment scam that authorities said went to covering his credit card bills, day trading in cryptocurrencies and payments to a contractor who handled a luxury bathroom renovation for him.

NJ Corrections Officer Dies While Working At Youth Facility, Campaign Says
A youth officer with the New Jersey Department of Corrections died over the weekend.
Senior Correctional Police Officer Emiliano Serrano, of Camden, died on Sunday, Aug 6. He worked in Burlington County.
A Marine Corps veteran, Serrano died at work, a GoFundMe page said, but the exact circumstances of his death were unclear.
Serrano began his NJDOC career in 2007. He was assigned to the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility, where he served with honor, according to the department.

UPDATE: A Trenton man who threw a makeshift Molotov cocktail into a city police vehicle following a protest was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison.
Kadeem A. Dockery, 31, is the last of four defendants sentenced in U.S. District Court in connection with the May 31, 2020 protest in Trenton.
Video captured by surveillance cameras and personal cellphones helped authorities identify Dockery, who was arrested a little over two months later, and Killian F Melecio, 22, of Columbus, NJ.
