The elderly driver was trying to park when her Volvo 960 lurched forward into Commerce Register Inc. on Godwin Avenue, in a building that also houses Peter's Fish Market. She was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with what responders said were minor injuries. The BMW X5 took down the railings on the exterior staircase at Veenstra Family Dental on Godwin Avenue as the driver apparently was attempting to park. The firefighter went clear through to the basement in the two-alarm blaze on Greenway Road. Colleagues contained the fire to the kitchen of the two-story, wood-frame house and had it knocked down within 20 minutes of the 10:45 p.m. call, responders said.
