Bayonne Man, 19, Dies In Bridge Plunge UPDATE: A body pulled from the water beneath the Bayonne Bridge over the weekend was that of a 19-year-old city man, friends and loved ones confirmed. Rescuers who responded to a report of a jumper shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday got help from a tug boat operator after the body was spotted in the Kill Van Kull just east of the bridge, Deputy Fire Chief Bill Bartos said. First Responders Rush To Rescue Bayonne Bridge Jumper Responders rushed to rescue a person who jumped from the Bayonne Bridge just before 2 p.m. Saturday. Arriving units found individuals on a tug boat in the Kill van Kull pulling the victim aboard, located just east of the bridge, Bayonne Fire Department Deputy Chief Bill Bartos said. Woman Jumps To Death From Bayonne Bridge A woman jumped to her death Wednesday morning from the Bayonne Bridge, Port Authority police confirmed. The woman stopped her vehicle on the bridge, got out and jumped into the Kill van Kull around 9:30 a.m., responders said. Harbor units from the NYPD and FDNY joined Port Authority police at Elm Park on Staten Island, where the body was brought.
