: Police Revive OD'ing Driver After Hawthorne Crash As Fire Spreads To Nearby Home
An SUV driven by a motorist who responders said was overdosing on drugs crashed and caught fire Friday morning in Hawthorne, spreading flames to a nearby house. Hawthorne police administered Narcan to the driver, who was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, while firefighters doused the flames around 11 a.m. The extent of the driver's injuries couldn't immediately be determined. Snapped Tree Limb Clips Hawthorne Home
A tree limb fell outside a Hawthorne home Tuesday morning, taking some utility wires with it. No one was injured after the tree missed hitting the Diamond Bridge Avenue house flush, nicking the corner of the roof instead. Hawthorne police and DPW workers responded, along with PSE&G. SUV Slams Into Hawthorne Home
A Honda SUV backing out of a driveway slammed into the front of a two-family Hawthorne home Tuesday night. The driver was taken to the hospital for examination after complaining of back pain following the 7 p.m. crash at the corner of Passaic and Loretto avenues. 3 Charged With Shoplifting From Fair Lawn CVS All Had Arrest Warrants, Police Say
Three people arrested on shoplifting charges at the Fair Lawn CVS on the same day were all wanted by police on warrants. The first incident took place on July 4 when Fair Lawn Police responded to the CVS at 18-35 River Road for a report of two men who had fled the store without paying for items, said Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Brian Metzler. While investigating the theft, Officer Stephen Buskiewicz approached two men matching the description on East 23rd Street in Paterson, but they fled on foot until eventually captured, Metzler said. Dump Truck Hits Hawthorne Guardrail

Mom, Daughter Struck By Car In Hawthorne
HAWTHORNE, N.J. -- A mother and her daughter weren't seriously injured when they were struck by a car while crossing a Hawthorne street Monday morning. Both were taken to a local hospital as a precaution. The incident occurred in a crosswalk at the intersection of Lafayette and Van Winkle Avenues around 8:30 a.m. Hawthorney police and EMS responded.
