'Guardian Angel' Rescues Clifton Mugging Victim, Arrest Made A 60-year-old robbery victim who was jumped on a Clifton street had a guardian angel, authorities said. The victim was walking along the 200 block of Ackerman Avenue when he was knocked down and stomped on by an assailant around 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, Police Lt. Robert Anderson said. Witnesses Help Clifton Police Nab Fleeing Business Burglar Hailing Cab Clifton police responding to a commercial burglary call found their suspect trying to hail a cab. Witnesses told responding officers that the burglar fled toward Paterson after breaking into the Main Street business around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.
