Fair Lawn, Paramus Police Nab Trio After Mall Theft, Chase, Crash
Police captured three suspects who bailed from their brand-new sedan after it crashed in Fair Lawn during a Friday evening chase that began with a theft at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, authorities confirmed. The pursuit apparently began after a theft from the Apple store at the Garden State Plaza. Paramus L.E.A.D. Carnival Draws Thousands For Good Cause
Thousands of people flocked to the Garden State Plaza over the weekend for the Paramus L.E.A.D. Carnival, running in the mall's west parking lot through June 9. The carnival is the organization's first and features a ferris wheel, motorcycle show, food, games, a fun house and dozens of other amusement rides. Funds will benefit the national and Paramus L.E.A.D. programs. A self-storage facility is going up at the former AT&T data center in Rochelle Park. Tulfra Real Estate -- a local real estate redevelopment company -- announced a $10.3 million construction loan for the Passaic Street facility, funded by First Bank in Hamilton. Uniqlo has closed its Garden State Plaza location. The store is planning on moving to a smaller location in Paramus Park Mall later this year, next to the former Sears department store. Commonly known as the "Japanese Gap," Uniqlo has shuttered several other stores in the past few years (including the lower level at the GSP) at the Palisades Center Mall along with others in Staten Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and more.
