27 NJ Boston Market Stores Issued Stop-Work Orders By Labor Department
Boston Market stores across New Jersey owe its workers thousands of dollars in back wages, and the state's labor department is taking action. The NJDOL issued 27 stop-work orders to Boston Market locations throughout the state on Monday, Aug. 14 saying the rotisserie chicken franchise owes more than $600,000 in back wages to 314 employees. The investigation began after the NJDOL received a complaint from an employee at a restaurant in Hamilton last November. Michigan State Shooter Has NJ Ties, Previous Gun Offense
The 43-year-old gunman who killed three students and wounded five at Michigan State University before turning the gun on himself Monday, Feb. 13 appears to have New Jersey ties. The shooter was identified by MSU Interim Deputy Chief Chris Rozman as Anthony McRae. According to a report by the New York Post and her obituary, McRae's late mother was born and lived in Trenton. A 38-year-old man was sentenced to prison after he pleaded guilty to stalking a woman, threatening to kill her, slicing her face, then crashing into two cars while leading police on a chase across the Jersey Shore in May 2021. Michael Mahan, of Ewing Township, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Michael T. Collins to eight years in prison on Friday, Feb. 4, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. A suspended Ewing Township police officer and his wife charged this year with fatally beating their 3-month-old daughter have both been indicted, authorities said. Daniel Bannister was indicted on a murder charge and Catherine Bannister on a reckless manslaughter charge, Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday.
