Drunk Volkswagen Driver Slams Into Hackettstown Bridge, Police Say
A Volkswagen driver from Morris County was intoxicated when he crashed into a bridge in Hackettstown, authorities said.
Officers responding to the crash report on East Avenue found Timothy Mikesh, 43, behind the wheel of a 2016 Volkswagen just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, Hackettstown Police said in a Tuesday, Feb. 8 press release.
While speaking with Mikesh, officers observed the odor of alcohol and subsequently found an open bottle of Smirnoff inside the car, police said.

Police responded to 221 calls for service, 28 medical calls, 8 motor vehicle summonses and ordered three city ordinances during Hoboken's Santa Con, they said Tuesday.
The annual event returned with vaccine requirements on Saturday, but that didn't stop people from letting loose.

DWI Clark Driver Incessantly Honking Horn Refused To Cooperate With Officers, Hoboken PD Says
A Clark woman who continued wailing on her car horn even after an officer warned her to stop had been drinking, authorities in Hoboken said.
Officer Tyrone Huggins was standing near 2nd and Garden Street when he heard a continuous blowing of a car horn around 6 p.m. last Friday, Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said.
The sound was coming from a silver Mazda in bumper-to-bumper traffic, and so Huggins gave the driver -- Janet Tung, 41, a verbal warning, Cabrera said.

A Morris County man was drunk when he crashed into another vehicle on Route 206 and gave police a fake name to avoid being identified, authorities charged.
Eusebio I. Cordova, 43, crashed near Route 206 and Main Street in Flanders around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Mount Olive police said.
During questioning, Cordova, of Netcong, showed signs of intoxication and subsequently failed field sobriety tests, police said.

A drunken Montana man was sound asleep behind the wheel, stopped at a Hackettstown intersection over the weekend, authorities said.
David Search of Stevensville, Montana was slouched over and sleeping in his vehicle, which was running but stopped at the intersection of Cindy Terrace and Hurley Drive just after 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Hackettstown Police said.
An officer put Search’s vehicle into park and observed clear signs of intoxication during his questioning, authorities said.
A subsequent search of Search’s vehicle turned up an airplane-sized bottle of alcohol, authorities said.
