Sussex County Man Who Killed Scout Leader After Alleged Rape Sues Boy Scouts Of America
A Sussex County man who killed the Boy Scout leader who he said raped him is now suing the organization, saying it marketed itself as wholesome and safe while concealing an "infiltration" of pedophiles.
The Boy Scouts of America failed in its duties to identify pedophiles, stop them from abusing young boys, alert law enforcement, warn parents or institute a zero-tolerance policy involving charges of sex abuse, alleges a lawsuit filed by Clark Fredericks against the BSA.

Paterson police raided two homes directly across the street from one another, arresting two ex-cons and five alleged buyers while seizing raw and packaged heroin, cocaine and a sawed-off shotgun.
Members of the Paterson Narcotics Division also seized $568 in suspected proceeds during the simultaneous Monday afternoon strikes, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.
The primary arrests involved two men with criminal histories: Filiberto Feliciano, 65, who lives in one of the Cedar Street homes, and Carlos Torres, 43, of Summer Street.

A Newark man has been sentenced to 75 years in prison for shooting his brother to death and attempting to dismember his remains to conceal the crime, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.
Ervwakine Pryor, 41, killed his brother Jovan Johnson, 29, at their shared apartment on Avon Avenue June 26, 2017. Pryor believed Johnson had stolen from him.

Nursing Aide, 53, Charged With Sexually Abusing Disabled Teen Patient At Rochelle Park Facility
A nursing assistant sexually abused a disabled 18-year-old patient at a Rochelle Park medical facility, said police who arrested him.
Rodney Mills, 53, of Irvington was arrested after an investigation by Rochelle Park police, assisted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit, Detective Sgt. James DePreta said Tuesday.
Mills, a certified nursing assistant who’d been working at the facility a little over a year, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and neglect in caring for the disabled male patient, DePreta said.

Bergen Sheriff's Task Force Rounds Up 8 Defendants Who Skipped Court
A Fugitive Task Force assembled by Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton snatched up eight people wanted on warrants in one morning.
Tuesday morning’s operation “included participation from 18 different agencies and resulted in multiple leads,” Cureton said Wednesday.
All eight defendants taken into custody had skipped court appearances, he said.
