A 25-year-old New York man was killed in a crash on Route 284 in Sussex County on the afternoon of Sunday, Nov. 17, authorities said. At 2:02 p.m., a Chevrolet passenger vehicle, driven by Andrew Slagle, an Orange County resident from Westtown, was traveling northbound on Route 284 in Wantage Township when it veered off the roadway to the right, struck several trees and overturned, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. A driver and a passenger fled the scene of a crash with another vehicle on the NJ Turnpike in Bergen County Monday evening, Oct. 28, police said. The Toyota RAV4 and Audi Q3 collided in the northbound lanes at milepost 118.7 in Ridgefield Park around 6:55 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The driver and passenger of the Toyota fled the scene on foot and were picked up by an unknown vehicle before troopers arrived. No injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.
