Masked Offender From Bergenfield Caught With Meth, Burglar Tools In Pre-Dawn Stop: Dumont PD
A known offender was arrested again after a Dumont officer spotted him carrying bolt cutters while riding a bicycle down the main drag two hours before sunrise, authorities said.
And, once again, a judge released him soon after.
Andrew Lugo, 35, of Bergenfield, has been arrested in several towns – among them, Saddle River, Hackensack, Englewood, Teaneck and Little Ferry – the past few years, records show.
Charges have included burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and drug possession.
A year ago, Bergenfield police arrested him for a host of credit card thefts during burglaries.

Officers Find Repeat Restraining Order Violator Hiding Beneath Bed: Lyndhurst PD
A Lodi man jailed several times the past few months for restraining order violations tried hiding from police while doing it again, authorities said.
Joseph Minniti, 37, had gone to a Lyndhurst residence to confront a family member who had a court order barring him from the home near Riverside County Park, Police Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said.
Police were called around 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, after Minniti forced his way in, the lieutenant said.
Officers Steve Batista, Mark Rivera, and Michael Carrino found him hiding under a bed on the second floor, Auteri said.

Smash-And-Grab Burglars Flee Fairview Deli With Cash, Lottery Tickets, Registers
A burglary crew smashed their way into a Fairview deli overnight before making off with two cash registers, $800 in cash and lottery tickets, police said.
Three bandits threw a stone through the glass to enter Panela's Deli on Walker Street just off 6th Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, Capt. Michael Martic said.
They fled in a Honda Civic (photo above), driven by a fourth member, that headed east on Walker Street and then north on Anderson Avenue, the captain said.
One of the burglars apparently had dreadlocks, Martic said.

UPDATE: A member of a second-story crew who targeted Asian and Asian-American homeowners in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware for burglaries was sentenced to a plea-bargained four years and two months in federal prison, authorities said.
Randi Barr, 42, of Union County, NJ, was part of a group that worked from a hit list of dozens of homes based on “stereotype and opportunity,” federal authorities said.
