Sedan Barrels Into House Just Off Route 17 A driver apparently suffered a medical emergency just before his sedan slammed into the side of a house just off Route 17 in Carlstadt on Monday. The Mercedes Benz took down a chain link fence and struck the residence on Passaic Avenue at the corner of 9th Street shortly before 9 a.m. Borough police were first on the scene. The driver was conscious when taken to the hospital by paramedics from Saint Clare's Health System after being extricated by firefighters. Storm Topples Tree Into Glen Rock Home Heavy winds blew a tree onto a Glen Rock house early Christmas morning. Firefighters were called to 172 Glen Ave., at approximately 4:!5 a.m. All occupants were deemed safe but the house reportedly suffered serious damage. Glen Rock police and fire departments responded, along with the building inspector. The storm continued to wreak havoc across the state, with major flooding and gusty winds worsening overnight.

SUV Hits Mahwah Home No one was injured when an SUV plowed into a Mahwah home Tuesday afternoon. The Nissan Murano hit a house on the northeast corner of Birch Road and Wyckoff Avenue, across the street from the Young World Day School, around 4:20 p.m. Township police were there instantly and made sure the vehicle occupants -- a couple and their two young children -- were OK.
