22-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Essex County Crash
A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an Essex County crash Tuesday, Sept. 27, authorities said. Jordan A. Mayrant, of Bloomfield, was riding on Bloomfield Avenue when his Yamaha YZF collided with an Audi Q5 at High Street in Glen Ridge around 4 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Glen Ride Police Chief Sean Quinn said. Mayrant was taken to University Hospital, Newark, where he was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m. No charges have been filed against the Audi driver. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Elizabeth Man Arrested In Essex County Burglaries
An Elizabeth man wanted for a pair of burglaries in Essex County was arrested in a motor vehicle stop, authorities said. Sean Crotty, 37, was taken into custody May 28 -- six days after breaking into a pizzeria on Washington Street in Bloomfield, Public Safety Director Sam DeMaio said. Crotty had also been wanted on similar charges out of Livingston, DeMaio said. Livingston police did not immediately return Daily Voice's request for details on that incident. NJ Dominos Pizza Delivery Driver Carjacked At Gunpoint
A pizza delivery driver was carjacked at gunpoint in Essex County, authorities said. The Dominos driver was approached from behind by an unknown individual, who placed a hard object believed to be a handgun to his back and demanded the vehicle on Ella Street in Bloomfield on Sept. 25, Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio said. The suspect fled on Ella Street and went east on Bloomfield Avenue. The car was recovered the following day around 1:20 a.m., in Newark. The incident remains under investigation.

1 In Custody, Another At Large In Strong-Armed Bloomfield Robbery
One person was in custody and another at large in connection with a strong-armed robbery of a Bloomfield 7-Eleven, authorities said. Brandon K. Boyd, of Belleville, and another man forced their way into the gas attendant booth at the Bloomfield Avenue 7-Eleven on Aug. 12, Bloomfield Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio said. The men demanded the worker's $600 iPhone and $100 cash then fled toward Ampere Parkway, DeMaio said. A winning New Jersey Lottery ticket was sold in Bloomfield. The Jersey Cash 5 ticket was sold at Remax Health & Beauty on Bloomfield Avenue. The ticket wins Thursday's jackpot of $64,956. Dozens weighed in after seeing a photo online of a help wanted sign posted on the front door of a Bloomfield sandwich shop inviting "males only" to apply.
