Boy Seized With BB Gun At Rutherford HS Playoff Game
A 17-year-old boy who apparently thought it was a good idea to bring a BB gun to Rutherford High School's state playoff game against visiting Hanover Park was quickly taken into custody, authorities said. The Friday night lights made it easy for a concerned citizen to see the weapon, which the boy pulled from his waistband to show other fans near the end of the Nov. 3 game, Rutherford Police Chief John Russo said. A Clifton liquor store was robbed by four young city teens, one of whom displayed what turned out to be a BB gun, said authorities who took them into custody. The haul? A vape. The quartet entered Dante's Liquor & Wine on Van Houten Avenue shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said. Police: NY Man Jailed For Wielding BB Gun, Fleeing During Dispute With Sussex County Landscaper
A 31-year-old man has been jailed after wielding a BB gun during an alleged dispute with a Sussex County landscaper. David A. G. Martin of Peekskill, NY is accused of brandishing PSM45 BB handgun during an argument over payment at a landscaping business off Limecrest Road around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Andover Township Police said. Martin then drove away, heading toward Newton-Sparta road in a red Ford F150, police said. Police: Speeding Driver Threatens Englewood Homeowner
An Englewood resident who signaled a driver racing through the neighborhood to slow down had what looked like a handgun pointed at him, said police who quickly took two teens into custody. The Everett Place resident told police he was cutting his grass Monday afternoon when a dark-colored BMW with New York license plates and "fancy silver rims" came speeding down the street, Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said. A man who dozed off with a BB gun in his car was taken into police custody presumably as a precaution after a nearly hour-long standoff in the parking lot of a Kearny United States Postal Service facility Tuesday, authorities said. Two out-of-towners who were with a group that got into a fight with a bunch of Hasbrouck Heights locals were taken into custody after one of them pulled out a BB gun, authorities said.
