Investigators searching the home of a Newark man Thursday made a grisly discovery: a bin containing mummified human remains, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. JC Teacher From Lyndhurst Gets 5 Years For Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl
A former Jersey City charter school teacher who admitted having sex with an eighth-grade girl at what was then her Lyndhurst home must serve at least four years and three months in state prison before she’ll be eligible for parole. Lauren Coyle-Mitchell, 36, was sentenced last Friday to a plea-bargained five years in state prison, 85% of which she must serve before being eligible for parole with lifetime supervision. Wanaque Landscaper Charged With Sexually Assaulting Two Hackensack Pre-Teens
A Passaic County landscaper sexually assaulted two pre-teens from Hackensack, authorities said. Carlos Gutierrez, 63, of Wanaque remained held in the Bergen County Jail on Monday, charged with two counts each of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault by contact and child endangerment, following his arrest last week. Gutierrez “inappropriately touched” the children, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said.
