Wayne School Honored For Helping Teach Tolerance

WAYNE, N.J. -- Wayne's Schuyler-Colfax Middle School has been honored as a "Mix It Up Model School" for its efforts to foster respect and understanding among its students and on its campus during this academic year.

Schuyler-Colfax Middle School is one of 91 schools nationwide being recognized for its inclusion events during the school year.

This recognition is part of the Southern Poverty Law Center's Teaching Tolerance program. SCMS is one of 91 schools receiving this honor. To do so, schools must host a Mix it Up at Lunch Day, which includes different members of the school community, as well as two more Mix It Up-related programs.

The school thanked Mr. Mucha and the Student Council for their work, organizing the events, in a recent Facebook post.
