“It's not a decision I made lightly, but one that I made knowing that I want to make a difference in our town,” Miller, who is serving her second term on the council and is in her second year as council president, said in the letter. “We're at a crossroads, facing extreme development and economic pressures. The actions we take now will shape our collective future.”
In a phone interview, Miller said she’s running to lead the Republican ticket this year because she believes the decisions the town makes now will make the difference between whether it is an affordable place to live and work, “or whether it becomes unaffordable for average citizens.”
Miller and her husband grew up in Wayne and have three children. She is a former New York Post reporter and GOP communications operative.
Miller will be screened by Wayne Republican Regular Organization on Feb. 28.
