Sept. 25 (1:50 a.m.) Officer Robert Schlossberg stopped a vehicle on Rt. 208 for doing 35 miles per hour and arrested the driver, 34-year-old Stacy M. Cruz of North Haledon, after she refused to submit to a breath test. She was released to a friend on summonses for DWI, refusing to submit to a breath test, failing to signal and improper driving on marked lanes of travel.
Sept. 18 (5:58 p.m.) A citizen reported a possible intoxicated driver on Rt 208, then followed the vehicle to a Caldwell Drive home — where Sgt. Michael Ragucci found the driver slumped over the steering wheel, Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox said. Arrested was 27-year-old Andrew M. James, who also was illegally carrying Xanax, Fox said. He was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics in a motor vehicle and with being under the influence of narcotics. He was released to his father pending a Municipal Court date, the chief said.
Sept. 17 (8:40 p.m.) Officer Brenda Groslinger, hearing a broadcast of a possibly intoxicated driver, stopped Arthur Mulkey Jr., 57, of North Haledon on Mountain Avenue. Following a breath test, he was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep to the right and released to his daughter pending an Oct. 2 Municipal Court hearing.
Sept. 7 (1:53 a.m.) Justin R. Disenso, 23, of Wyckoff was arrested on charges of DWI in a school zone and reckless driving after his car went off the road and struck a utility pole at the intersection of Wyckoff and Lafayette avenues. He was released to a relative pending a Municipal Court hearing.
