Wyckoff heroin addict charged with stealing grandmother’s car arrested for drug possession a day later

UPDATE: A Wyckoff man charged with stealing and selling his grandmother’s car for drugs made bail — and was arrested again a day later on heroin posession charges while riding a bicycle, authorities confirmed.

A Hawthorne police officer who stopped 22-year-old Arthur J. Garlick after he was nearly struck while riding his bicycle in traffic on Tuesday said he found him carrying three small bags of the drug, stamped “heart attack.”

Garlick was taken to the Passaic County Jail, where bail was $7,500.

Wyckoff police released him without bail on Monday after charging Garlick with stealing his grandmother’s car from a Wyckoff church parking lot as she worked the Election Day polls inside, then selling it in Paterson for $200 cash and $150 worth of heroin. READ MORE….
