Officers David Hoppe and Michael Polifrone noticed the driver, Jennifer Shaw, "having difficulty maintaining lanes on the busy highway" Monday afternoon, Capt. Laurence Martin said.
After stopping the northbound car near the Pequannock border, the officers immediately smelled raw marijuana and spotted an "obviously altered" Arizona iced tea can that held marijuana, he said.
They also found five large sandwich bags and pipe all filled with pot, the two marijuana grinders and a scale, the captain said.
The rear passenger, 62-year-old Laura Dionsio, had a three-year-old outstanding warrant out of Wayne, Martin said.
Police took Dionsio, Shaw and front-seat passenger Brandon Dionsio into custody. They were later released pending court action on various drug charges.
