Responding officers interviewed several witnesses and determined that Gian P. Falla, 21, "attacked the victim with his hands, closed fists and a baseball bat" in the head, face and arms at a Hillside Terrace home around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Capt. Laurence Martin said.
He also smashed the victim's car windshield with the bat, Martin said.
The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson with facial injuries, the captain said.
Falla, who'd left the scene, was summoned to police headquarters, where he was charged with aggravated assault, weapons possession and criminal mischief, he said.
Falla was taken to the Passaic County Jail pending a detention hearing.
