As one officer said: “I thought with the current political climate being what it is in NJ and all of those ‘financial experts’ coming forth to voice their opinions of how little we do, this link would be the perfect response to post.”
I made a vow from Day One not to be political on this site, and I intend to keep that vow. Doesn’t mean I can’t post opinions by others — be they in the form of letters, emails, IMs, calls or videos.
And don’t give me any of that “currying favor” baloney. I was a rookie police reporter doing ride-alongs before a lot of these young officers — and so-called experts — were born.

Yes, it could at first blush seem a lot of dough, and bennies, in a sleepy town like Demarest. But when you are virtually triangulated by New York City, Paterson and Newark — with an increasingly dangerous Jersey City a hair’s breadth away, an officer in North Jersey never knows what he or she is walking into at any given moment.
Fair is fair.
