State Trooper Hospitalized After Clifton Crash

CLIFTON, N.J. — A New Jersey State Police trooper was hospitalized after a car crash on Route 3 eastbound in Clifton early Thursday, police said.

The trooper was responding to a car accident on Route 280 when his vehicle struck a telephone pole around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, NJSP Sgt. Jeff Flynn said.

The trooper was transported to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson with minor injuries, Flynn said.

The accident occurred near the Grove Street and Broad Street exits on Route 3, Flynn said.
