Two women or girls and a male accomplice attacked the 57-year-old victim around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Wabash Avenue and East 1st Street, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.
The trio "began kicking and punching the victim and ultimately relieved him of personal property before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction," Bracken said.
The victim sustained injuries as a result, he said.
Bracken, who released surveillance photos of one of the suspects, asked that anyone who saw something that night or has information that could help the investigation call the Clifton Police Department Communications Center at (973) 470-5911 or the Clifton Police Detective Bureau at (973) 470-5908.
