The calls from residents brought responding officers to Kipp Avenue just before 4 a.m., Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
Officers Bernadette Yates and Williams Woods, along with Lt. Michael Kassai and Detective Thomas Kochis, spotted an SUV fitting the callers’ description and stopped it at Martha Avenue and Miles Street.
Inside they found the power tools, Foligno said.
They arrested the driver, Chester Taylor, after the victim identified them as his, the chief said.
“Detectives also discovered that the van belonging to the victim had a broken window and had been ransacked,” he said.
Taylor was being held on $10,000 bail, charged with burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief.
