Police: Wayne Convict Ran Heroin Ring From Apartment

WAYNE, N.J. — A Wayne man convicted of gun possession was arrested after police said he ran a heroin operation out of his Lancaster Court apartment.

Officers responding to complaints found 98 bags of heroin while taking Jahquese N. Saunders, 27, into custody, Capt. Laurence Martin said on Monday.

Saunders was awaiting sentencing for illegal possession of a handgun in Paterson at the time, the captain said.

Saunders was charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute heroin the drug and was released from police headquarters on a court summons.
