The genuine officer pulled over a 2010 Jeep Cherokee at Willow Avenue and 19th Street in Weehawken last night for having an unreadable license plate, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
As 64-year-old Jose M. Quinones got out of the car, the officer spotted an empty nylon handgun holster on his right hip.

When he wasked what it was for, Quinones said he was a police officer, Pentangelo said.
He then pointed the officer toward the gun and 10 hollow-poit bullets in the center console, he said.
A search also turned up several other police shields and ID cards, as well as a light bar commonly used by emergency responders.
Quinones was being held $10,000 bail in the Hudson County Jail, charged with illegal weapons possession, impersonating a police officer, possession of false documents and possession of hollow-point bullets.
