It was one of respect and honor and glory and dignity. It was one of officers who knew they’d get nowhere near the final service, but didn’t care.
They simply wanted to be part of the show of force.
It was if they’d all locked arms and said: We will not be beaten. We will watch over our brothers. We will guard that wall so YOU can sleep safely.
Don’t even try to imagine what it’s like to leave your home each day unsure of whether you’ll return.
Just open your heart to whatever force you believe made us all possible, and say, “Thank you.”
