That teen has been identified, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.
"The juvenile at large will continue to be sought with the same tenacity and will face swift and decisive justice for this senseless act of violence," he said.
Speziale commended Detectives Charlie Garcia, Joel Santiago, Mike Figueroa, Cindy Carrera and Jeff Robinson for their work in the case.
"This shameless act of violence was thoroughly investigated and the tireless efforts by the detectives involved is commendable," the director said. "No stone was left unturned in identifying those responsible."
In the video, which spead quickly across social media on Friday, the assailant walks up to a man authorities said may have been intoxicated at the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Van Houten Street.
He looks back at the camera, and the teen holding it eggs him on -- saying, Knock him out! Knock him out!” -- after which he punches the man in the jaw, knocking him down.
