"Due to the dangerous nature of an intruder entering a home while the occupants were sleeping the Paterson Police Department assigned a team of detectives to investigate, identify and arrest [him]," Police Director Jerry Spezlale said.
Detective Al Bermudez headed a team that conducted interviews, reviewed other burglaries and generally canvassed the area -- leading to the arrest of 23-year-old Daniel Acevedo.
Acevedo, who was taken into custody at his Beech Street home Sunday night.
He was charged with eight counts of burglary and one of robbery, Speziale said, for home break-ins at:
➢ Beech Street and Oak Street
➢ 20th block of Kathy’s Court
➢ 100th block of Madison Street
➢ 500th block of Summer Street
➢ 30th block of Lewis Street
➢ 20th block of Chestnut Street
➢ 100th block of Oak Street
➢ 300th block of 21st Avenue
➢ 200th block of 20th Avenue
