Paterson police arrested Delshawn Wright Friday night on an anonymous tip and charged him with unlawful weapons possession, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of hollow-point bullets, according to the website.
Police Director Jerry Speziale announced the arrest, which was made after a concerned citizen reported a man carrying a handgun outside a building on Park Avenue. Arriving on the scene, police saw Wright discard the gun under a car, according to NJ.com.
Wright is from Paterson, NJ.com said. A 17-year-old juvenile, also from Paterson, was charged with obstructing a governmental function for allegedly trying to interfere with the arrest.
