Paterson Man Charged In Stabbing Death

PATERSON, N.J.– Passaic County Prosecutor's detectives arrested a Paterson man in the Bronx and charged him with the June stabbing death of another city man, authorities said Friday.

Elvin "Blaze" Rodriguez, 29, was charged with murder and two weapons offenses, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said.

Police found Wesley Holmes, 49, with several stab wounds in a basement-level bedroom at 51 E. 16th Street shortly before 6 a.m. June 25, Valdes said.

Holmes was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead at 6:48 a.m., the prosecutor said.

Rodriguez is due in court on Tuesday, Valdes said.
