Fugitive Warrants Division Detective Cpl. Joseph Cammisa, Sgt. Rachael Garcia and Detectives Brian Weitzman, Rashedul Chowdhury and Atli Sela first grabbed 35-year-old Lyndell Myers near North Main Street in Paterson early Friday night, Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said.
Myers, who was "sitting on a milk crate in the middle of a group," was wanted of Clinton County, NY on 14 drug-related offenses, the sheriff said.
Not even 15 minutes later, while taking Myers to their Wayne headquarters, the squad was stopped at read light when 47-year-old Gerald Cody of Paterson came walking down Haledon Avenue and crossed North Main Street, Berdnik said.
Cody, who owes $80,723 in child support, was being sought after he eluded police in a stolen car on July 14, the sheriff said.
Both men were being held in the Passaic County Jail. Extradition proceedings were being arranged for Myers.
