Passaic Sheriff: Illegal Turn Turns Up Half-Pound Of Pot

PATERSON, N.J. -- Two Passaic County sheriff's officers turned up a half-pound of pot worth $1,800 on the street Monday night after stopping a 23-year-old Paterson man for making an illegal turn, authorities said.

Officers Francesca Vollaro and Michael Spadafora smelled marijuana when driver Casey Robinson opened his window after the stop at East 16th St and Governor Street, Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik told Daily Voice a short time later.

Robinson was charged with various drug offenses and released pending a court hearing, the sheriff said.
