Officer Martin Sanabria identified the stolen vehicle just before 4 a.m. near the corner of Ellison and Auburn streets, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said.

Behind the wheel was an intoxicated Jose Reymundo, 28, of Clifton, he said.

Reymundo was charged with receiving stolen property, DWI, refusing to submit to a blood test and being DWI in a school zone. He was released on a court summons.

"It is infuriating that this suspect was drunk in a stolen vehicle he was driving," Berdnik said. "[Reymundo] certainly shows little to no regard for not only the law but for public safety."
