Detectives watched 24-year-old ex-con Clarence Williams make a car-to-car deal Tuesday afternoon before pulling him over a short time later, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said.
He was carrying 100 glassine envelopes of heroin and $366 that were both seized, the sheriff said.
A search of Williams's Spring Street residence turned up another 985 folds, $2,146 and both a .22-caliber Beretta semi-automatic handgun and a .38-caliber revolver, as well as ammunition for each, he said.
"Eleven serious charges, underscore the significance of this arrest." Berdnik said.
"Detectives were able to take not only a large amount of drugs off our streets but powerful handguns."
Williams was charged with various drug and weapons counts.
He was being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.
