Officers found the victim sitting on the steps of the Passaic Street location, bleeding from the head, at 1:25 a.m., Lt. Robert Salerno said this morning.

He told them he “was hanging out with some friends in the yard…when he was approached by two males who struck him in the head with an unknown object and attempted to take his wallet,” Salerno said.

“The victim was able to keep his wallet after a brief struggle,” he said.

Officer Philip Nobile arrested Patrick Joseph Light, 32, of Union City at a nearby residence a short time later, the lieutenant sad.

Light remained held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with robbery and aggravated assault.

His accomplice was still at large this morning, Salerno said. Anyone with information that could help find him is asked to call Lodi PD: (973) 473–7600.
