Jurors Convict Paterson Man Of Sexually Assaulting Wife's Daughter, 3

PATERSON, N.J. – Jurors in Paterson convicted a 55-year-old Paterson man of sexually assaulting the 3-year-old daughter of his wife in 2013.

The jurors heard from several witnesses, including the now-6-year-old victim and her mother, whom Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said witnessed the assault by Daryl Alfred of Paterson.

They also watched Alfred’s video-recorded confession given to a detective from Valdes’s office.

Sentencing was scheduled for Nov. 18. Alfred will remain in the Passaic County Jail until then.

He will have to serve 85% of what could be sentence of up to 20 year before he’ll be eligible for parole.
