Fair Lawn police charge driver in street fight with DWI

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A possible road rage street fight overnight in Fair Lawn led to the arrest of a 39-year-old Ridgewood man on DWI charges.

Police said they were still trying to sort out the details of the 2:20 a.m. brawl Saturday on Fairclough Place at Orchard Street.

They charged Alexander Denegri with driving while intoxicated after he failed a roadside sobriety test, Sgt. Brian Metzler said this morning.

Dengri was then taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson to be treated for injuries sustained in the fight, Metzler said.

Other charges were possible depending on what investigators find.
