Juan Borbon (POLICE MUGSHOT)
Juan Borbon, 20, was being sought by the Wilkes-Barre Police Department for the Feb. 9 attack, in which a 16-year-old accomplice was arrested. Police recovered the weapon, then showed Borbon’s photo to witnesses.
A warrant for his arrest was issued on Feb. 17.
The marshals were called in on Feb. 22 and soon after developed information that Borbon could be in Passaic.
Word went out to the elite USMS New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force (NY/NJ RFTF), based in Newark.
Yesterday afternoon, the marshals arrested Borbon without incident.
Borbon is being held in the Passaic County Jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania to face charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, among other counts.
“The U.S. Marshals Service is committed to tracking down and arrest violent offenders,” United States Marshal Martin J. Pane said. “It is my hope that with Borbon in custody, our community is a safer place to live.”
