Miguel A. Delacruz, 39, admitted sexually assaulting the woman “while being aided or abetted by one or more other persons and using physical force or coercion,” Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said after a judge in Paterson accepted a plea deal that Delacruz worked out with prosecutors.
Delacruz pleaded guilty to a single count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault in connection with the November 2012 incident.
In exchange, he received a 12-year sentence – 85% of which must be served – and must undergo an evaluation at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Avenel, be placed on parole supervision for life and register as a Megan’s Law sex offender, Valdes said.
Chief Assistant Lisa Squitieri and Assistant Prosecutor Kelly M. Walsh reached the plea deal with Delacruz’s attorney, Nelson Gonzalez.
