It turned out one of them, 18-year-old Tashyma Thorne, was wanted on a warrant out of Passaic, Paramus Lt. John Scully said. Thorne (top, right) was also carrying more than $200 worth of items stolen from the mall, he said.
Police got the call from security guards who detained the quartet around 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Scully said.
One of the crew, 18-year-old Alexus Rhoden, had gone into the backroom of the Love Culture store and snatched a cellphone from an employee’s locker, he said.
Both adults were arrested and the juveniles released pending Family Court action.
Rhoden (top, left) was charged with possession of stolen property and giving false information to police. She was released pending a court hearing.
Thorne, who was charged with possession of stolen property, was turned over to the Passaic Police Department.

Credit card fraud in iPad buy
Also over the weekend, Paramus police found a Paterson couple carrying seven bogus credit cards, one of which Scully said was used to buy an iPad.
Employees from the Best Buy flagged down officers as the couple left the store with the iPad around 9 o’clock Saturday night, the lieutenant said.
They brought 53-year-old Humberto Gonzalez back into the store, checked with the credit card company and discovered that the card he’d used to buy the device was bogus, Scully said.
Gonzalez had also “passed the card off to a female companion,” later identified as Carmen Vasquez, 51, who store employees said tried to use it to buy another iPad.
Both were arrested and charged with fraudulent use of credit cards and wrongful impersonation.
Vasquez was later released pending a court appearance.
Gonzalez was taken to the Bergen County Jail, where he was being held on $10,000 bail.
