Born and raised in Cartagena, Columbia, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1968 residing in Union City and Guttenberg before moving to Clifton in 2001. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in 1964 from Coleigo de la Esperanza in Cartagena, Columbia. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church in West New York. He was a baseball enthusiast and loyal NY Yankees fan. Prior to retiring, he was a machine engineer with Thomas Bakery in Totowa for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Cira C. (Gonzalez) Ramos; children, Cira S. Ortiz and late husband, Joe and Stephanie A. Reyes and husband Ernie; grandchildren, Linda, Cindy, Victoria and Olivia.
The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, Jan. 20, 5-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. service at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. Cremation will be private. Flowers would be appreciated.
