The city worked with the Red Cross and the county's office of emergency management to arrangement temporary housing for those without a place to stay after the 2 a.m. fire.
The shelter is located at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, 85 Hamilton Ave.
Red Cross volunteers will remain available at the shelter to assist the families with health services, mental health services and recovery planning.
